Full description
Stirox is a natural filter media produced from selected, mined, crushed, and screened mineral ore, characterized by its high manganese dioxide (MnO2) content. Thanks to its catalytic properties, it promotes the oxidation and subsequent filtration of iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide present in water.
The media is used as an enhancement layer in sand filtration systems, accounting for approximately 10-12% of the total filter bed volume. Stirox is typically placed below the fine sand layer and above the medium sand layer.
Benefits:
- High catalytic activity due to its elevated MnO2 content.
- Natural mineral media with excellent mechanical strength.
- Improves the removal of iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide without the need for additional chemicals.
- Compatible with conventional sand filtration systems.
Applications:
Iron (Fe) removal
Manganese (Mn) removal
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) reduction
Improved sand filter performance
Appearance: Irregular black to dark brown particles.
