Stirox is a natural filter media produced from selected, mined, crushed, and screened mineral ore, characterized by its high manganese dioxide (MnO2) content. Thanks to its catalytic properties, it promotes the oxidation and subsequent filtration of iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide present in water.
The media is used as an enhancement layer in sand filtration systems, accounting for approximately 10-12% of the total filter bed volume. Stirox is typically placed below the fine sand layer and above the
